Joan A. Brown

Joan A. Brown began her creative journey in illustration and commercial art. Later, after making the transition to fine arts, she was tutored by notable artists from New York and France. She attended the Students Art League of New York.

In order to capture the texture and form that is contained in nature, and because of her love for the outdoors she became a landscape and wildlife painter. Her interest and talent also extend to the challengers of portraitures.

The mediums of choice are oil. watercolor, and pastel. Brown also has had the enjoyment and satisfaction of teaching students of diverse backgrounds, advanced as well as beginners.

Her bold use of color in her work is intended to stir the emotions as well as tract the eye. As award winning artist, her works have appeared in many exhibits including one woman shows throughout the northeast.
