Kaye Shannon is a contemporary artist whose love for color and drama are expressed in her paintings and metal work. She likes to visually draw her viewers into her work. Whether it is her watercolors, mixed media or copper weavings she wants the viewer to spend time discovering and exploring her subject.
“My inspiration starts with a “what if’ and exploration follows. I love the challenge of that journey and I want my viewers to enjoy it also,” says Kaye.
Kaye is the past president of the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery and is still an active member and board member. She is currently a member of the Florida Watercolor Society, Central Brevard Art Association, and Brevard Watercolor Society of which she is a founding member. She was active and served on the Board of Directors of the Artists’ Forum, formerly affiliated with the Brevard Museum of Art and Science. She is also a founding member of the Strawbridge Art League in Melbourne and served many years on its board.
Kaye currently teaches watercolor classes at the Courtyard Studios in the Eau Gallie Art District.
She presently lives in Viera, Florida with her husband Roger and cat Booeenie.
