For more than 20 years the Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA) Artist Residencies program has provided quality arts education opportunities in schools and community sites. The primary goal has been to enhance the existing arts curriculum with exciting and challenging arts experiences, as well as to integrate art instruction into other subject areas. Through each residency a visual, performing, or literary BCA artist is selected by the school to partner with a teacher to form a team which, with the assistance of BCA staff, develops and implements an intensive series of classroom sessions to immerse students in a particular art form through participative in-depth activities.BCA is a committed partner of BPS able to channel existing resources within the arts sector for the benefit of Brevard students and schools. BCA's art education programming is multifaceted, offering a variety of activities that better respond to the needs of each school and department. BCA support BPS Goals and Education in general by providing high quality experiences in the field of arts education to strengthen communities and to build and sustain a vibrant arts and cultural sector, as well enhance all schools programs. |
