SECOND “BCA DAY” CELEBRATION
Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA) is pleased to announce its second celebratory BCA Day in partnership with Brevard Symphony Orchestra. Their next upcoming BCA Day will be held on Saturday evening, February 5th at the Wondrous World of John Williams: A 90th Birthday Tribute concert at the Maxwell C. King Center in Melbourne.
“We invite the community to join us in wishing John Williams a happy 90th birthday by experiencing wonderful music he wrote for popular films,” said Kathy Engerran, Executive Director of Brevard Cultural Alliance. David Schillhammer, Brevard Symphony Orchestra’s Executive Director, stated “Mr. Williams’ contributions to the world of music are truly immeasurable. His film scores and compositions have a way of connecting us to sense memory and storytelling that really allows audience members to be transported.”
With 52 Academy Award nominations and four wins in the Best Original Score category for Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Schindler’s List, John Williams is the most honored film composer of all time. This program will include selections from some of his award-winning film scores as well as fan favorites, such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Schindler’s List, The Cowboys, and more!
Founded in 1954, the Brevard Symphony Orchestra has been presenting inspiring musical performances to audiences in Brevard and Indian River counties for more than 65 years. This honorary tribute is part of the orchestra’s 68th season.
