Oil Portrait Workshop with Jon Houghton

We are again honored to have Jon Houghton teach a workshop in oil portrait at the Guild.

The workshop will be directed to all attendees, whether beginning or a professional. Jon will focus on a “quick portrait” , a finished portrait in one session using a “fast palette”.

He will teach color distribution on the face, including colorful shadows. He will then emphasize details of the features which add to a realistic portrait. Although not emphasizing a likeness, these techniques will contribute to an excellent likeness while expediting the process.
