Painting Winter Birds: Kids Art Class
The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach, is hosting “Birds in Winter” a three session class for children taught by Glaucia Romano. This class meets on Thursday from 4 to 5 pm, December 7th, 14th, and 21st. Kids will explore painting techniques, light and shadow, and creating contrast as they paint winter birds. Oh, and we’ll throw in some splatter painting just for fun!
This super-fun art class for children age 4 to 11 focuses on process, rather than the product. Process art allows children to explore and make connections without the pressure of “right” or “wrong” ways to do things. It helps develop creativity and self-esteem by focusing on what kids imagine rather than their skill level. With excitement and interest in their own creations, kids naturally start developing the skills. The group is small so each child gets individual attention and guidance.
Glaucia has an MA in Art Education and is a certified Art Educator in the state of Florida. She has taught art classes for over 15 years in the public and private sectors, mostly to kids, but also to adults. She has a wide knowledge of a variety of media and processes and can’t wait to share them with you.
Fee for the 3 classes is $70 which includes all materials. Register at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org.
