Art for Homeschooled Kids
Glaucia Romano continues her popular “Art For Homeschoolers” class for K-12 students at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. The class meets on Thursdays from 2 to 3 pm, January 11, 18, and 25.
The class offers an art program attuned to Florida Standards for students K-12 who may be interested in the arts as an elective. The class limit is 10 children, which allows for individual support and attention. Children are creative beings and their strengths and interests are taken into account in every lesson. Throughout the school year children will explore drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles, clay, and print-making.
Additionally, they will learn art vocabulary and required standards including the elements of art, principles of design, cultural artworks, famous artists, community artists, art history, contemporary arts, art careers, and more. Students’ work and progress will be evaluated and parents may opt to have their child’s work graded.
Children should bring a sketchbook. Preferably 8×11 or 9×12, unlined, spiral-bound sketchbook. Most other materials are included. For more information or questions, contact Glaucia Romano at 321-345-0670 (texts preferred) or glaucia@ananaprana.com
