Art for Homeschoolers
The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting Art for Homeschoolers on Thursdays from 2 to 3 pm, November 2, 9, 16, and 30. Instructor Glaucia Romano offers an art program attuned to the Florida Standards for students K-12 who want an art elective.
The class limit is 10 children, which allows for individual support and attention. Children are creative beings and their strengths and interests are taken into account in every lesson. Throughout the school year, your child will learn a variety of media including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles, clay, and printmaking. Additionally, they will learn the art vocabulary and standards required by the state including the elements of art and principles of design, cultural artworks, famous artists, community artists, art history, contemporary arts, art careers, and more.
Progress will be evaluated and parents may decide whether or not to have their child’s work graded. Students should bring a sketchbook, preferably a 8×11 or 9×12 spiral-bound sketchbook (unlined) . All other materials are included. For more information contact Glaucia Romano at 321-345-0670 (texts are preferred) or glaucia@ananaprana.com’
Class meets at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway , in downtown Cocoa Beach. Fee for the four classes is $65. Register at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org
