Conductor’s Favorites: Community Band of Brevard Concert

Community Band of Brevard conductor, Robin Kessler will be playing favorites when he raises his baton to start the group’s 38th performing season —his favorites. The award-winning band will present Conductor’s Favorites on Sunday, September 11 at Merritt Island High School Auditorium, 100 Mustang Way (off North Courtenay Parkway, 32953). The 3:00 PM concert will showcase a wide variety of works, ranging from traditional Sousa marches to a medley of Cole Porter’s greatest hits. Conductor’s Favorites will also include selections by Percy Grainger, Leroy Anderson and more. Conductor’s Favorites is free with no ticket required and no reserve seating. Concertgoers are strongly encouraged to wear face masks while in the auditorium (regardless of vaccination status), for the safety and health of patrons and musicians alike. A past winner of the John Philip Sousa Foundation Sudler Silver Scroll Award for musical excellence, the Community Band of Brevard is directed by former military bandleader, Robin Kessler.
