Saturday Kids Art: Create a Castle
The August Saturday Kids Art Class with Glaucia Romano at the Studios of Cocoa Beach is Building a Castle. In four session from 10 to 11 am on August 5, 12, 19, and 26. Children will create a cardboard and plaster castle infused with creative thinking and problem solving. A functional drawbridge? A princess palace ? Maybe a very high tower, home for a dragon. This class will be held at the instructors studio, 126 N. Orlando Ave, two blocks from the gallery.
This super-fun art class focuses on process, rather than product. Process art allows children to explore and make connections without the pressure of “right” or “wrong” ways to make art. It helps develop creativity and self-esteem by focusing on what kids imagine rather than their skill level, but from excitement and interest in their own creations, kids grow curious and naturally start developing those skills. The group is small so each child can have as much attention and guidance as they need to create and learn! The class is ideal for children age 4 to 11.
Instructor Glaucia Romano has an MA in Art Education and is a certified Art Educator in the state of Florida. She has taught art classes for over 15 years in the public and private sectors, mostly to kids, but also to adults. She has a wide knowledge of a variety of media and processes and can’t wait to share them with you. Please note: This class will be held at an alternative location only 0.2 miles away for the studio at 126 N Orlando Ave, Cocoa Beach.
Fee for the month is $80. Register at the Studios website: www.studiosofcocoabeach.org
