Artist Statement Primarily, my work focuses on local and Florida landscapes and seascapes, but I will use almost any subject matter. I’m heavily influenced by the Impressionist and artist from the Ash Can School. My work always goes back to composition and the relationship between value and color. For me, drawing is the foundation to a good painting. This is why I attend weekly figure model sessions as it is the most challenging subject for me to draw and it keeps my artistic senses sharp.
