Description
I am a second-generation Florida artist who brings tropical landscapes into your home. From an early age I was exposed to painting by my mother, Martha Finger, who served as a Professor of Art at Jacksonville University. I love the peaceful and carefree feelings of seeing the Florida marsh, being at the seashore and enjoying other natural environments. My art seeks to capture these peaceful and unspoiled landscapes. Painting these scenes strengthens my appreciation for God’s unspoiled creation. My paintings are intended to raise your spirits, lower your blood pressure, renew your energy and restore your soul.
Similar the Florida Highwaymen, I paint using the “alla prima” technique. I primarily use oils. Oil paints are the standard. They blend wonderfully and withstand the tests of time. Inspiration for subject matter comes from living, golfing and canoeing along Florida’s Indian River, biking on Florida’s “rails to trails”, visits to Hawaii and watching Florida’s beautiful sunsets.
Thank you for your interest in art and for reading this information. I hope you make a W. Finger painting your own and that you enjoy pausing a few seconds to enjoy it every time you walk past.
