Description
Shay Mahoney is a self taught fine artist and native to the Space Coast of Florida. She specializes in realism style nature paintings, primarily of Florida wildlife. Since very young, her earliest memories she dreamed and vocalized her determination to become a professional artist as her career. As 4th generation local to the area and an upbringing on the water and in nature- camping, surfing, and taking rides with her family on her Grandfather Hank’s airboat on the Indian River Lagoon, Shay has always had a passion for animals and wildlife.
At the age of 8, her drawing of the Indian River Lagoon was published in Florida Today newspaper. 23 years later, she’s still painting the subjects she holds close to her heart, now with a bigger vision and purpose. Shay has donated several original paintings, as well as murals, namely to organizations such as NKF National Kidney Foundation, Moffit Cancer Center, Suntree Elementary School and Brevard Humane Society.
Former co-owner of one of the longest running art galleries in the Brevard area, Eau Gallery, Shay has taken on a new endeavor with her own online art gallery and clothing line, soon to be released. Shay resides in Indialantic, FL with her son, and their 3 beloved rescue animals, two bunnies and one cat.
