Description
Being a Graphic Designer by trade, my work is more graphic than painterly. I focus on painting what interests and fascinates me. I’m drawn to all types of industrial structures and buildings. I also enjoy the challenge of plein-air painting, which forces you to focus on simplifying and not overthinking the painting process.
I work in acrylics because of their quick drying time, enabling me to layer quickly and rework areas of the painting. I like to work on a firm or stiff surface, usually wood or hardboard panels.
I received my BA in Fine Arts from Montclair University in New Jersey. I also studied at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and The Art Students League in New York City. I am a founding member of the Studios of Cocoa Beach and was a resident artist/board member for 6 1/2 years. I was also a member of the Central Brevard Art Association for 13 years, and one of their Art in Public Places program directors.
