Description
Choozi Entertainment began in 2005 in Las Vegas, when Suzanne Childers, owner of Choozi, left her position at Farrington Productions, where she managed the Roman Festival at Caesars Palace, as well as the Gondola and Opera programs at the Venetian. She and her brother Christopher formed Choozi together, the name deriving from both their names, her nickname “Soozi” and his name “Chris” ... Chris and Soozi became “Choozi”. When Christopher left the company to become Franco Dragone’s Artistic Coordinator for Le Reve at The Wynn, Suzanne continued pursuing work for Choozi, eventually landing big contracts with Royal Caribbean and Silversea Cruise Lines.
Her event work set the tone for the company, having produced concerts all over the world. She produced a concert at the Sydney Opera House with Jennifer Hudson, a concert with Sarah Brightman at The Army Club in Bangkok, two concerts at the Kauai Hyatt with Gladys Knight and Earth Wind and Fire, as well as a concert with Nova Era at the Palace of Versailles. Being headquartered in Las Vegas, Suzanne was always able to acquire the best talent for her smaller events using the artists from Cirque du Soleil. She was also the ballet teacher for Cirque’s Resident Shows Division for quite a few years in Las Vegas. A fun fact about Suzanne is she started her professional dance career in 1965 on CBS Television’s “Jackie Gleason Show”.
Suzanne moved to Melbourne in 2017 to be close to family, with semi retirement on her mind. A professional dancer for most of her life, she started teaching ballet for Dance Arts Centre here in Brevard, as well as in the dance education program at Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach. When Surfside Playhouse needed a costumer, she answered the call, also being a professional costume designer, having designed costumes for a National Tour of “AIDA”, “Sponge Bob, the Sponge Who Could Fly” for Broadway Asia, a Pirate Stunt show in China, Carnival’s new Mardi Gras ship, and the pre covid Las Vegas hit “Celestia” at the Strat to name but a few. Currently, she is choreographing “Sweet Charity” for Surfside Playhouse, where she also holds the title of Development Manager for the theatre. She is happy to share her almost 60 years of professional experience in arts and entertainment with Brevard’s local arts community.
