Biography
Melbourne, Florida-based painter and drawer of odd things, Nicholas Roberts, works in a wide variety of mediums to portray surrealism and dreamlike visions. Influenced by spirituality, blobism, the subconscious, and metaphysics, the artist explores visitations from beings of other-dimensional origin. His artistic vision began first as a series of paintings called "The Watchers," a term he believes he sub-conscientiously decided on. Roberts later discovered, through his interest in things outside of the natural, that Watchers were the name given to the fallen angels mentioned in the Apocryphal Book of Enoch.
Nicholas continues to explore how these beings manifest and the fantastical matter that makes up their celestial bodies. Roberts’ use of bold colors and a fine attention to detail invites the viewer to get closer and spend time with the artwork.
